Love Your Lawn Again: Landscape Trends We’re Seeing for 2025

At this time of year, we start having a lot of front porch conversations—clients asking what's new, what’s working, and what they should consider for their own yards. Whether it's a quick question during a service visit or someone texting us a photo of their patio, there's definitely a theme to the questions we're getting in 2025.

Here are a few of the biggest trends we’ve been seeing lately—straight from local yards, neighborhood chats, and our own team's projects. If you’re thinking about making some updates this year, these might be worth exploring.

Raised Garden Beds Are Back—and They’re Smarter Than Ever

One thing we’re hearing a lot: “Groceries are getting expensive.” And it’s true. Between inflation and folks wanting more control over what’s in their food, raised garden beds are popping up everywhere.

We’ve helped several families install custom beds this spring, and the feedback has been awesome. People love being able to step outside and snip herbs for dinner, or pick tomatoes they grew themselves. And the raised design makes it easier to manage soil, keep weeds out, and grow more in less space.

It’s not just practical—it’s really satisfying. Plus, it’s something the whole family can get involved with.

Outdoor Entertaining Spaces Are Still a Big Deal

Patios, firepits, string lights… people are still all-in on making their backyards feel like living rooms. We’ve noticed more clients asking about areas where they can host friends—especially for summer BBQs or even casual weekday dinners outside.

It doesn’t have to be fancy. A simple paver patio and some well-placed seating can go a long way. We’re seeing a trend toward cozy, low-maintenance setups that still feel inviting. Think: minimal fuss, maximum hangout potential.

One thing to keep in mind—good layout and drainage make a big difference, especially with our Florida weather. We’ve been helping homeowners rework older patios that just weren’t practical anymore, and the updates have totally changed how they use their space.

Refreshing the Landscape with Mosquito-Repelling Plants

We know mosquitoes are part of life in Florida, but we’re seeing more people take a proactive approach—especially when refreshing flower beds or redoing border plants.

Certain plants like citronella, lavender, marigolds, and mint don’t just look and smell great—they actually help keep mosquitoes away. We’ve been adding these into client landscapes more often lately, especially around patios, firepit areas, and doorways.

Of course, we still recommend pairing this with a solid pest control plan, but the right plants can absolutely help reduce the nuisance—and make your space feel more welcoming.

Thinking About Changes This Year?

If you’re planning any kind of yard update this year—big or small—start with what you want to use your space for. That’s the biggest thing we talk about with clients right now. Whether it’s growing your own food, hosting friends, or just having fewer bugs to deal with, your outdoor space should work for your life.

And if you want to talk through ideas or see what’s possible, we’re always here. Helping people love their lawn again—that’s kind of our thing.
