2020 Turf Swap Rebate Program

The goal of the Turf Swap Program is to encourage water savings through Florida Friendly Landscaping and by reducing or improving Irrigation Systems, which saves you money on your GRU bill and leaves more water for our springs and rivers! The program provides 50% rebates up to $1,500 toward your landscape and irrigation renovation, making it even more beneficial to your banking account and curb appeal!

Do I Qualify?

You must live in Alachua County to qualify, although we only service the communities of Gainesville, Jonesville, and Alachua area. You also must have an existing traditional irrigation system. The work must also be performed by a Florida Water Star Accredited Professional that is Turf Swap approved, and The Master's Lawn Care is accredited and approved.

How Does it Work?

An appointment is scheduled with one of our team's Landscape Designers, and they walk with you through your landscape to find out about your long-term goals for the property, your plant tastes, and the way you utilize your landscape. The goal isn't to tell you what you have to do, but to match your landscape goals with the guidelines for Florida Friendly Landscaping and the Rebate Program. We will also look at your irrigation system to find out what work needs to be done there to remove or update the system for water savings. A design and proposal will be formulated from the meeting and will be presented. Revisions are able to be made at this time or the project is approved, a deposit is made, and it goes into our project calendar. Typically our team is scheduled about 3-6 weeks in advance. We will fill out the Turf Swap Rebate form for you (along with you sending in a W9) and Alachua County sends you a check for the rebate thereafter. Then, all that is left to do is enjoy your new landscaping and watch your GRU water bill drop!

What does it cost?

Turf Swap Projects are typically costing anywhere from $3,000-6,000. The rebate comes off of that, making the out of pocket expense anywhere from $1,500-4,500 depending upon the size of your project. Final cost will depend on the specifics of the work performed, but this is the range we are seeing based on projects we have completed last year.

How Do I Save?

The goal of the Turf Swap program is to not only save money via the rebate, but to save money over a long period of time by using fewer resources (specifically water) on your Alachua County Landscape. It will also enhance the value of your home as the curb appeal is increased.

How long will this last?

This program lasts until the funding runs out. We will be notified when funding is about to run low and begin pre-approving jobs before they're scheduled for the rebate. We expect the program to last throughout Fall of 2020 and possibly into winter. Call today to get on the list to discuss your project at (352) 378-5296 or email info@themasterslawncare.com
