With some of the coldest temperatures in some time, winter is finally gone and spring is in full swing.  Now is the time to start fertilizing.  A simple home Gainesville lawn maintenance plan recommends fertilizing 2-3 times per year starting now in March, and the last application in September.

Prior to applying your fertilizer, rake the dead grass allowing vibrant new grass to grow.  Follow the instructions on the label for proper fertilizer application.  After applying your fertilizer, water your lawn and/or flower bed and trees thoroughly giving them around 1.4 inch of water.

Palms should be fertilized every two months starting now (March), and continued through September.  It is recommended to use a 8N-2P-12K-4MG fertilizer for palms following the instructions on the label.  Irrigated two times per week if needed, and be sure to check your local municipality for restrictions on both watering and fertilizer use.

Following these simple steps will help you maintain a lush and beautifully landscaped Gainesville lawn.  Have questions about your Gainesville landscaping?  Need some improvements?  Conact your trusted Gainesville landscape company, and get a free quote today!
