celebrating 20 years with 20 acts of kindness

Two decades of serving our community calls for a celebration!

The Master's is proud to announce our 20th-anniversary milestone, and we're marking this special occasion with an initiative to thank our communities we serve for their support!

We’re Celebrating 20 Years with 20 Acts of Kindness

We're excited to introduce our 20 Acts of Kindness campaign. This is a heartfelt show of gratitude to our community for supporting The Master's for over 2 decades by completing 20 acts of kindness in 2024.

We're reaching out to you, our community, for suggestions on acts of kindness. Share your ideas through Instagram, Facebook, or Google Form submissions. Whether it's a small gesture or a grand initiative, we welcome all ideas aimed at making a positive impact on the communities surrounding Gainesville or St. Augustine.

Do you work with a non-profit organization that could benefit from our assistance? Share your suggestions with us! Are you aware of a family in need that could use our support? Please inform us! You can submit your requests privately through our Google Form or publicly on social media, ensuring privacy is respected.

March 2024 Highlights:

Residential Landscape Maintenance Team Working

HIGHLIGHT #1:

One of the first Acts of Kindness our team took part in is gifting a long-term landscape maintenance and lawn health program to a woman in our community. Her husband has recently suffered an unexpected series of strokes, prompting the need for our assistance. Her husband loves their landscape, so it was a weight on her to figure out how to care for it while he recovers.

Since our team has been providing the service, this lovely lady has visited our office every couple of weeks to show appreciation, provide updates on her husband’s recovery, and to visit. She even brings donuts for our team as a token of her appreciation!

In my opinion, this experience has honestly been more impactful for our team than for her family - as there are few times our team gets to realize the kind of positive impact our services can have. What our team does is more than fertilizing a lawn, trimming a shrub, or fixing a sprinkler. It’s peace of mind. It’s especially peace of mind for someone who knows how important the lawn is to her husband who isn’t able to care for it, and wants him to come home from recovering to it looking just as beautiful as he left it.

HIGHLIGHT #2:

Our second Act of Kindness is that we have the privilege of providing landscape maintenance services to the Sira Women's Health Center. Our team finds great joy in giving back to a non-profit in our community, especially through organizations that offer vital healthcare services to women in their time of need, completely free of charge.

It's an honor to support an amazing non-profit that is serving our community well, and we remain committed to making a positive impact in the community that has fostered our success.

April 2024 Highlight:

April's spotlight on kindness shines on our commitment to gifting a full year of landscape management services to a beloved local church in our community. This congregation relies solely on donations, as most churches do, but also has an outward-focused posture to make a positive impact on the community it is in, regardless of faith tradition.

Beyond its weekly worship gatherings, this church serves as a hub for numerous nonprofit initiatives. Monthly, its doors swing open to provide a no-cost medical clinic, and it offers counseling services from its premises. Clearly, this church champions the ethos of positive impact.

Our objective is twofold: by alleviating the burden of landscape maintenance expenses, we aim to empower the church to amplify its community outreach efforts. Simultaneously, we pledge to ensure that the grounds remain inviting and well-kept for all who cross its threshold.

In May, our 20 Acts of Kindness initiative turned its spotlight to Peaceful Paths, a local nonprofit dedicated to aiding survivors of domestic abuse in North Florida. Their shelter offers refuge to women and children fleeing untenable circumstances.

Recognizing the vital role Peaceful Paths plays in our community, we've asked how we could express our gratitude, and they mentioned their frustration with mosquitoes. By providing mosquito prevention services for their playgrounds, back porches, and outdoor areas throughout the 2024 season, their kids will enjoy a safe place to enjoy the outdoors. It's a small gesture compared to the monumental impact they make on the lives of survivors, but we hope it brings some comfort and relief to those in need.

Thank you, Peaceful Paths, for your unwavering dedication to supporting and empowering survivors of domestic abuse. We're honored to stand alongside you in service to our wonderful community

June 2024 Highlight:

In June, our 20 Acts of Kindness Initiative continued to make a positive impact by partnering with the local Humane Society. This collaboration supports their goal of stopping the euthanasia of healthy pets in our community.

We asked how to help - and they answered.

Thanks to the efforts of our amazing staff, our team was able to help by pruning canopies over the parking lots, helping clean up dog play areas, and shaping hedges, thus creating a more comfortable environment for pets and visitors alike. Together, we strive to make a lasting difference in the lives of animals and the community at large.

To the incredible team at The Humane Society, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for allowing us to contribute to such a noble cause. Your unwavering efforts positively impact countless animals throughout our region, and today, we celebrate the meaningful difference you make in their lives.

July 20 for 20 Acts of Kindness Campaign Highlights

Gainesville High School's track and field had been in desperate need of attention. Due to limited funding and adverse weather conditions over the past few seasons, the track had fallen into disrepair. When we learned about the state of the track, we knew we had to step in and help.

We dispatched a dedicated team to Gainesville High School, ready to spend an entire week transforming the track and field. Our team worked tirelessly to clean up the area, addressing overgrown vegetation, debris, and other issues that had accumulated over time.

After a week of hard work, the transformation was remarkable. The track was cleared and the field was ready for the upcoming season. The students and faculty at Gainesville High School were thrilled with the results, and we were honored to contribute to their success.

August 2024 Highlight:

Gainesville Williston Youth Association Cleanup

This August, we collaborated with the Williston Youth Association and the Florida Nursery, Growers and Landscape Association (FNGLA), along with local nursery growers, to give their sports field a much-needed facelift.

The sports field at the Williston Youth Association is a special place where many children take their first steps into organized sports. However, the area was in need of improvement to provide a more inviting and functional space for both the young athletes and their families. We saw an opportunity to not only beautify the field but also to make it more comfortable for everyone who uses it.

In partnership with FNGLA and local nursery growers, our team volunteered time and resources to transform the park. We installed a variety of plants and trees, carefully selected to thrive in the local environment and enhance the natural beauty of the area. This greenery not only adds aesthetic value but also contributes to a more pleasant and enjoyable space for the community.

We are proud of the work done at the Williston Youth Association's sports field and grateful for the support and collaboration from FNGLA and local nursery growers. This project is a testament to what can be achieved when a community comes together with a shared goal.

The Masters Lawn & Pest Partners with Children’s Home Society for Back-to-School Drive

As part of our 20th anniversary "20 for 20" campaign, we’re excited to highlight our partnership with the Children’s Home Society for the month of September. This incredible organization works tirelessly to support children and families in our community, and we were honored to contribute by donating essential school supplies and hygiene products to their back-to-school drive.

Our team also spent an entire morning packing backpacks with all the essentials to ensure local kids are equipped and ready for the school year. Supporting education and ensuring children have the resources they need to succeed is a cause close to our hearts.

We’re thankful to the Children’s Home Society for their continued work and dedication to making a positive impact in the lives of so many. Heroes like them inspire us every day, and we are proud to be part of such an important effort in our community.

From all of us at The Masters Lawn & Pest, thank you to the Children’s Home Society for everything you do!

The Masters Lawn & Pest Sponsors Spina Bifida Jacksonville's Holiday Pary

For October, as part of our 20th anniversary "20 for 20" campaign, we’re proud to support Spina Bifida of Jacksonville by sponsoring their Holiday Party! This annual event brings families and friends together to celebrate the holiday season, and we are excited to contribute to this special occasion.

Spina Bifida of Jacksonville is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals affected by Spina Bifida. Through advocacy, education, and hands-on support, they provide critical resources like medical care, mobility assistance, and adaptive sports. Their efforts are invaluable to the families they serve, and we’re honored to support their mission in this meaningful way.

This cause is especially close to our hearts, as one of our long-time managers has a son who was born with Spina Bifida. His son is now a warrior in every sense, inspiring us all with his strength and perseverance. We are proud to stand alongside Spina Bifida of Jacksonville and continue supporting their work in the community.

From all of us at The Masters Lawn & Pest, we thank Spina Bifida of Jacksonville for everything they do, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with such an inspiring organization.

Celebrating Community: The Masters Lawn & Pest Partners with Habitat for Humanity

As part of our 20 for 20 campaign, The Masters Lawn & Pest had the honor of partnering with Habitat for Humanity in Gainesville this November to give back to a remarkable organization and a deserving community. Our focus was on Celebration Oaks, one of Habitat for Humanity’s communities, where we contributed our expertise to make a lasting impact.

Supporting Celebration Oaks: A Commitment to Community

At The Masters Lawn & Pest, we believe in cultivating more than beautiful landscapes; we aim to foster thriving communities. That’s why we donated one full year of free maintenance for Celebration Oaks’ neighborhood park—a vital space where families gather, children play, and the spirit of community blossoms.

In addition, we took on the renovation of the community’s front sign, giving it a fresh, inviting look that reflects the warmth and hope this neighborhood represents. It was rewarding to see how these efforts brought renewed pride to the residents and created a welcoming atmosphere for all who visit.

The Inspiring Work of Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity Gainesville is an organization that has transformed countless lives by building and selling homes to families at lower mortgage rates. Their mission ensures that families of all income levels have access to safe, affordable housing—something many of us take for granted.

The work Habitat does is more than just building homes; it’s about creating stability, opportunity, and a sense of belonging for families in need. This aligns perfectly with our company’s values of respect, planning, and accountability. To learn more about their incredible work, visit their website: Alachua Habitat for Humanity.

Making a Difference Together

It was truly a privilege to work alongside Habitat for Humanity Gainesville to help make Celebration Oaks a vibrant, welcoming community. Witnessing the joy of the families and seeing the park and sign transformation was a reminder of why we started the 20 for 20 campaign—to celebrate 20 years of service by giving back to the communities that have supported us.

This partnership highlights what can be achieved when businesses and nonprofits come together for a common goal. We’re proud to have played a role in helping Celebration Oaks thrive and look forward to future opportunities to work with Habitat for Humanity.

Thank you to Habitat for Humanity Gainesville for allowing us to be a part of your mission and for the tireless work you do to better our community.

Join the Movement

We encourage everyone to support organizations like Habitat for Humanity. Whether through donations, volunteering, or simply spreading the word, we all have the power to make a difference. Let’s continue building stronger, more beautiful communities together!
