A Note of Thanksgiving
I am more grateful than ever to have the holiday season approaching and I hope that it can be a time where we see kindness and grace multiply. I try to focus on gratitude year round, and use this time as a reminder that Thanksgiving isn't all about the food or the football - although I will enjoy both! It's really about something more. For me, it is a time to reflect on the simple abundance of my life and the blessings that I have been so fortunate to receive. It is a reminder that what matters most is what I can give to those around me. It's also a time build the traditions that enrich our lives. This being mine and Cassie's first Thanksgiving as a married couple, I am looking forward to creating new traditions of our own.
I'd like to share with you a tradition that one of our team members started with her family. Each Thanksgiving they take a sheet of paper and write each person's name at the top of one sheet. Those sheets are passed around for others to write a favorite memory or something about each person for which they are especially grateful and then given to its owner to be read aloud. The words are sometimes humorous, sometimes touching, and always a reminder that those closest to you hold you in such high regard. Each Thanksgiving everyone goes home with one page of praise and gratitude, hand written by those they love most. What a great tradition!
On this Thanksgiving holiday as you create and build upon traditions of your own, we wish you full bellies, restful moments, and the comforts of friends and family. May you create memories that will last a lifetime!
Sincerely,
Rusty Thompson and the TMLC Team
